There will be more opportunities for work in Southwest Florida as a company searching for cancer solutions plans to expand into the area.
In a unanimous vote on Tuesday, Lee County commissioners agreed to move forward with an incentive to bring in close to 300 jobs.
NeoGenomics Laboratories, based in Fort Myers, will be hiring for its cancer diagnostics and pharma service company.
The $354,000 incentive package would bring in 295 jobs to Lee County.
“Almost 300 jobs at 60 thousand dollars, and benefits package, we’ll be on board with that all day long,” said Jim Wall, with CareerSource Southwest Florida.
The package includes building a $25 million to $30 million corporate headquarters and center diagnostics laboratory. That, plus hundreds of new job opportunities, CareerSource Southwest Florida said is a game changer for Lee County.
The more than $300,000 would on top of $1.4 million from the state of Florida.
